What is Uber?
It's a smartphone ride-hailing app that connects riders with drivers. It was one of the first on-demand services to operate on a smartphone. The company has cemented itself as the leader in the rideshare market. For riders, it's away to get reliable rides with a private driver. For drivers it provides an opportunity to make extra money.
How it works
In cities where Uber operates, use your rider app to request a ride. When a nearby driver accepts your request, the app will display an estimated time of arrival for the driver heading to your pickup location. The app will also notify you when your driver is about to arrive.
Also, when a driver accepts your request the app will provide you with all their information. Like the drivers first name., vehicle type, and license plate number. This information will help you find your driver when they arrive at your pickup location.
Once, your trip is complete the fare will be automatically calculated and charged to your payment method you've linked to your account.
You will also be able to rate your driver one to five stars, and leave them a tip. Note drivers also rate riders to. If you should rate your driver or rider three stars or lower you will never be paired with them again.
Is a membership that unlocks savings across Uber. For a fixed monthly fee, you get discounts on your rides, Eats, and grocery delivery. Click here to learn more!
