The Democrat-controlled House of Representatives passed H.R 2474, or the Protecting the Right to Organize Act (PRO Act). A bill that is worse then, California's AB-5
The bill holds more than 20 provisions, all of which work together.
One of those provisions mimics California's Assembly Bill 5. A bill that forces Rideshare companies Uber and Lyft, and delivery companies like DoorDash, and Postmates to treat drivers as full-time workers.
It would also repeal the right-to-work law that protects nonunion workers from being forced to pay union dues. It also insures union membership and non membership is never a requirement for employment. Only 28 states have passed such laws. The PRO Act would repeal all of them.
The House passed the bill Feb 6, 2020, and the Senate has yet to hear the bill. However, if they should pass it President Joe Biden has said he would sign it into law.
