Could We Soon See Uber's Partner Protection Coming To The U.S.

Updated: Feb 5

Partner Protection is designed to provide Uber partners with peace of mind while preserving the flexibility they value. Whether its sickness, an injury or jury duty.

It was made available to partners in Europe in 2018. For Eligible partners it covers major costs or lost income resulting from accidents or injuries that occur on a trip. It also provides protection for major life events that happen off trip like severe sickness and injury, maternity or paternity leave and jury duty.

To be eligible for the off-trip insurance, a driver partner must have completed 150 trips in the previous eight weeks; while a delivery partner on Eats must have completed at least 30 deliveries in the previous eight weeks to qualify.

With everything happening here in the U.S. with drivers protesting to become come employees it wouldn't surprise us if Uber finally brought this here.

For pretty much the same thing that is happening here happened in Europe before they introduced this.
