What to do if a customer changes delivery address during delivery on Uber Eats

If an Uber Eats customer should request to change their order’s delivery address, you can proceed with the order or cancel it.

If the customer should contact you to redirect you to a new location, tell them to contact customer support. There they will validate the customer’s new location and automatically adjust the destination for you in the driver app.

Going To The New Address

When the drop off location is automatically updated, Uber Eats will also automatically recalculate the fare you receive for the trip on the additional distance. The fare could stay the same if similar distance, or it could increase if drop off is further away.

Not Going To The New Address?

Canceling the delivery will not impact your satisfaction rating, it will also not affect your account at all. You will also still receive earnings for the full amount of the order fare.

Note: Uber Eats is currently unable to accommodate customers change of address if the new address is outside the restaurant’s standard delivery area. If this should happen the order will be canceled, and the customer will still be charged.
