DoorDash launches grocery delivery from Meijer, Fresh Thyme, Smart & Final and more

Updated: Jan 12

DoorDash who started delivering for wide range of convince stores earlier this year, announced customers can now order groceries through the DoorDash app from partners Meijer, Fresh Thyme, and Smart & Final. More stores like Hy-Vee and Gristedes/D'Agnostino will be added in the next couple of weeks.

"Grocery stores on DoorDash will be available on an on-demand basis," Mike Goldblatt, the company's head of grocery and convenience partnerships wrote in a blog post Thursday. "That means no scheduling required, no queues, no waiting." There will be a $3.99 delivery fee for each grocery order, unless users are part of DoorDash's subscription service, DashPass, which costs $9.99 per month and includes grocery.

DoorDash is promising that customers will get their groceries within the hour, which could give them an edge over the competition.
