Lyft's Community Safety Education For Drivers

Updated: Feb 2

Lyft Has teamed up with RAINN, the leading anti-sexual violence organization in the US, to create a safety education program.

All drivers (new and current) will be required to complete the program by December 15, 2019, to continue driving with Lyft. Current drivers will earn a $5 bonus if you complete the program and then give five 5-star rides in a row by November 30.

The program includes six short videos, which should take about 20 minutes to complete. Here are a few of the things you’ll learn:

  • How to read other people’s boundaries

  • What’s appropriate for an in-car conversation

  • How to avoid intrusive questions

  • Tips for defusing a situation if you ever feel uncomfortable

  • How to report safety incidents

  • what behaviors are prohibited for both riders and drivers
