Uber announces more changes for California drivers
Updated: Jan 25
Uber has made a lot of changes to the driver app, as they fight to not make drivers employees in California.
Drivers in California will no longer get a straight dollar amount surge. Instead, they will see the multiplier surge come back.

Uber is also capping the service fee they take out on UberX rides at 25% and 28% on UberXL, Comfort, SUV, and Lux trips.
There will also be a lower service fee on Quest and Boost promotions. Along with drivers being able to see all the trip information when the request comes in.

Riders have also been given the option to choose their favorite driver.
The only question is, can we see these changes coming to other states? Or is Uber only doing this to prevent having to make drivers employees in California.
