Uber introduces text-to-911 for riders and drivers across the US

Uber is rolling out in-app-text-to-911 for riders in areas where emergency services are able to recieve text. The 911 Assistance button will appear inside Uber's Safety Toolkit.
Users will be able to choose between calling or texting 911. If they should text, the feature will populate an SMS text message with key trips details that includes locations and vehicle information. Both, Riders and drivers are able to add information about their emergency, and dispatchers will be able to stay in communication with them until help arrives.
