Uber riders who violate the face mask policy will soon have to take selfie to request a ride

Back in May when Uber first started requiring drivers and riders to wear mask. Drivers and delivery works had to take selfie to verify they had a mask before they were allowed to accept request
That same scanning software is now coming to riders who've been flagged for not wearing a mask. Riders who have been flagged will have to scan their face with a mask on through the app before they can request another ride. Watch the video below to see how it works.
This tech will come to riders in the U.S. and Canada by the end of September, and will come to Latin America and other countries after the North America rollout, the company announced Tuesday.
