What is zTrip?
zTrip provides on-demand rides in a growing number of American cities. Owned by Transdev, a French company that has acquired many transit operations in the United States, including Yellow Cab.
zTrip only works with traditional taxi companies, black car, and limo services. Instead of the replacing them and the system, they offered an app to let the companies compete with Uber and Lyft. They also comply with all local laws and regulations, including fingerprint based background checks.
Navigating the App
When first opening the app, you will be asked to create an account. You can either sign up with Facebook to create an account, or your email. The information they need is your email, name, mobile number, and a password.
If you've used Uber or Lyft you will notice the app has a lot of similarities as it competitors. You select your location and your destination, and the type of ride you want. There are options for black car, taxi, and handicap accessible cars. You will also get an estimate for the price of your trip as well.
The difference between zTrip and it's competitors
zTrip pricing is slightly lower Than Uber and Lyft
on shorter trips. However, Uber and Lyft are generally cheaper on trips over $35.
Like Uber and Lyft, zTrip lets you schedule trips ahead, with multiple options for types of rides.
Unlike Uber and Lyft, zTrip has no surge pricing. So their prices stay constant.
